La Sonrisa
Coaching with horses

About me as a companion coach
My name is Sabrina Morssink. In 2018, my husband and I moved to Southern Spain in search of more peace, freedom, and connection. In 2022, we found our own finca in Alhaurín el Grande.
We named this place La Sonrisa, Spanish for “the smile.”

To me, a smile represents purity and deep happiness, often found in those small, special moments.
That is exactly how it felt when, after a long search, we finally discovered our little paradise.
Horses play an important role in my life. Over the years, I have personally experienced how powerful and insightful coaching with horses can be. The way horses mirror us has supported me in my own personal growth and has given me new insights.
Alongside offering coaching sessions, I work as a Remote Sales Assistant for entrepreneurs and businesses.
Because of my passion for horses and my own experience of them as coaches, I had long felt the desire to guide others towards more self-awareness and inner balance. That is why, in 2025, I followed the Chiron Equine Assisted Practitioner training, so that I could support people in coaching sessions with horses in a careful and sincere way.
After that, I immediately continued my development by following the Chiron Systemic Work with Horses training through an intensive programme.
Just as I consciously choose not to work full-time for one single client as a Remote Sales Assistant, so that I can stay sharp, authentic, and fresh in my communication, I also choose not to offer coaching with horses on a large scale.
Instead, I offer it on a small scale, from a place of calm and genuine attention. I make this choice consciously, out of respect for my horses and to allow every session to be a safe, special, and valuable experience for both human and animal.
We often forget to truly enjoy life because we get caught up in thoughts, responsibilities, or problems. This is exactly where horses can make such a difference. They live completely in the here and now and invite you to do the same. In their presence, you naturally slow down, reconnect with your feelings, and create space to let go.
In 2025, I completed the Chiron Equine Assisted Practitioner training.
In 2026, I completed the Chiron Systemic Work with Horses training.

At Finca La Sonrisa I hope, together with the horses, to create a space where calmness, connection, and a genuine inner smile can be felt once again.

I consciously use the term coaching with horses.
To me, horse coaching can suggest that the horse is being coached, while in reality it is the other way around. The horses are not simply a tool, but active and sensitive guides in the process. They mirror, invite, and show what is truly at play.
Other terms that are often used for coaching with horses are:
Equine Assisted Coaching / Equine Assisted Therapy / Equitherapy
Although the names may differ, they often refer to the same essence:
the unique way in which horses help people gain insight, awareness, personal growth, and development.
