The reflection of the water, the Reflection of the horse

Sometimes a horse doesn't have to do anything to show us something.
A quiet gaze, a subtle movement or simply their presence can invite us to pause. Not to focus on what is happening around us, but on what is happening within.
It reminds me of a pond.
A pond is an honest reflection. Even when a storm creates ripples across the surface and everything seems unsettled, the water eventually becomes still again.
Horses remind us of that same truth.
They reflect what is moving inside us. Fear, tension, joy or longing. They do so without judgement and without words.
Just as the water becomes calm again when the wind settles, we too can return to a place of stillness, presence and connection with ourselves.
In their quiet presence, horses invite us to recognise that same clear reflection within our own hearts.
Perhaps that is one of the greatest lessons they offer us.
Not that we should always remain calm, but that calmness is always there, waiting for us when we give ourselves the time and space to return to it.
