The Year of the Horse and the Beginning of La Sonrisa – Coaching with Horses

Today marks the beginning of the Year of the Horse in Chinese astrology.

The Horse symbolises freedom, movement, courage, and following your own path. As I learned more about its meaning, I realised how closely it reflects the journey I am on myself.

After completing my training as a horse-assisted coach in 2025, 2026 is the year in which La Sonrisa – Coaching with Horses truly comes to life. My website is now live, and I am delighted to welcome people for coaching sessions. It feels both exciting and deeply meaningful, a new chapter built on trust, courage, and following my heart.

What inspires me most about the Horse is that it represents more than strength and forward movement. It also embodies authenticity. Horses live completely in the present moment. They never pretend to be something they are not; instead, they respond honestly to what is happening around them.

That is exactly what makes horses such remarkable coaching partners.

They reflect without judgement. They reveal what words sometimes cannot express and gently invite us to pause and reconnect with ourselves. Not to become someone different, but to rediscover who we truly are.

My own learning journey continues as well. This year I am expanding my knowledge through further training in Systemic Coaching with Horses. For me, this is a valuable next step that enables me to recognise and explore the patterns, beliefs and family dynamics that influence people's lives.

Combined with the honest reflections horses naturally offer, this creates space for insight, greater self-awareness and lasting change.

Just like horses, we all long for freedom in our own way. Freedom to make choices that truly reflect who we are. Freedom to let go of limiting patterns and to move forward with greater confidence on our own path.

For me, the Year of the Horse represents far more than the start of a new year. It marks the beginning of a new chapter in which I can bring together my passion for personal growth and the extraordinary wisdom of horses through La Sonrisa. It is also a reminder that I will continue learning and growing myself, so that I can support others with authenticity and care.

I look forward to meeting many wonderful people and accompanying them on their own journey of self-awareness, personal growth and deeper connection. Every coaching session is unique, and that is exactly what makes this work so meaningful.

Ultimately, horse-assisted coaching is not about changing who you are.

It is about helping you reconnect with your authentic self.

From that place, new insights emerge, confidence grows, and genuine transformation becomes possible.
